Less Than Jake Lancaster Concert reviews
Great to see the band once again!
The multimedia backdrop was fantastically conceived and executed, adding a new dimension to the show. I'm usually not into the visual effects and electronic wizardry, being more of a Less Than Jake fan than a Kiss fan, but this time it really clicked, serving as a complementary element to the musicianship rather than overshadowing it.
The fans were enthusiastic, with many expressing their admiration for Kim. I refrained from proposing to her (I already knew the likely response). The band's performance was solid overall, though there were some muddy sections and occasional harmony hiccups. I'd rate it a B+/A-, the only downside being that it lacked the precision of a studio recording (in contrast to a previous Less Than Jake concert I attended).
Kim took the lead in engaging with the audience, while Frank remained silent throughout. A minor observation: unlike the previous concert, where they were all drinking beer, this time they stuck to water (except for Kim). A quirky detail that doesn't really connect to anything, but worth mentioning.
The day after the show, we found ourselves at a party 70 miles away from the venue in Pennsylvania. To our surprise, I spotted a guy who bore a striking resemblance to Frank Black. After chatting with his friend, we discovered that they had also attended the concert. Cue the Twilight Zone music.
Overall, I'd give this performance a solid 4.5 stars, rounded up to a perfect 5.
